A platelet donation allows one donor to give one therapeutic dose of platelets in one setting using an automated collection system. Procedure takes approximately 70-90 minutes. Can be donated every 48 hours up to 24 times a year.
A whole blood donation lasts approximately 10-20 minutes. Can be donated every 56 days.
